The Questions We Get Asked Most About VIVE Tours
We've been getting a LOT of questions lately about what it's actually like to travel with VIVE Society.
If you've ever looked at one of our group tours and wondered, "Would I fit in? Who would I travel with? What's the experience really like?" — this one's for you.
Michelle Ruiz, Founder of VIVE, is here to answer 4 common questions...
1. Who comes on a VIVE Trip?
One of my favorite things about our groups is the wonderful mix of people who join us!
We welcome solo travelers, couples, friends traveling together, and sometimes people who have never been on a group tour in their lives.
Most of our travelers come solo! Ages range from 35-75.
Some are single, some have partners who don't share their love of international travel, and others simply aren't waiting around for someone else to be ready for their next adventure.
You don't need to arrive knowing anyone. That's part of the beauty of it! We've watched so many wonderful friendships develop between people who might never have crossed paths otherwise.
2. Will I be on my own during free time?
Only if you want to be!
We intentionally build free time into our itineraries because everyone travels a little differently.
Maybe you'd love an afternoon at the spa, some quiet time by the pool, or a few hours exploring a local market at your own pace.
But if you're traveling solo and would rather have company, there's always a plan for shopping, cocktails, or dinner.
We also share suggestions for things you can do independently if you're feeling adventurous.
The idea is simple: You have the freedom to enjoy some independence without feeling like you're traveling alone.
3. What kind of hotels do you stay in?
You We choose beautiful 5-star properties for our VIVE Trips...for a reason.
We love introducing travelers to destinations that may be completely outside their comfort zones. And we believe that where you stay can make a tremendous difference in how you experience a country.
After a day exploring a bustling city or visiting local communities, there's something wonderful about returning to a hotel where you feel comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely cared for.
But it's not just about luxurious rooms.
We're thoughtful about the properties we partner with. We look for exceptional hospitality AND meaningful connections that provide opportunities to give back to the local community.
We believe you can experience the adventurous side of the world without sacrificing comfort.
This was something we found missing in the Tour Industry and another reason we felt called to start VIVE!
4. Are Michelle & Nelson on the trips?
YES! And this is one of the things that makes VIVE so different.
Nelson and I personally design and host VIVE Tours.
We're not simply putting together an itinerary and sending you off with a tour guide. We're right there experiencing it all with you!
On the first day of the trip, we bring everyone together for our Signature Champagne Welcome, where we introduce our team, including the wonderful local guides who will be joining us throughout the journey, and give all our travelers a chance to meet one another.
It's a fun way to kick off the trip and many of our guests tell us it's one of their favorite parts of the VIVE experience!
And yes, we're there for dinners, the adventures, the unexpected moments, and plenty of laughs along the way!
We created VIVE because we wanted people to experience the world in a more meaningful way, and we genuinely love sharing it with you.
