Meet Nelson Ruiz
Nelson is a former U.S. Marine. We like to think of him as our bilingual bodyguard. He took a leap of faith at the age of 18, leaving Brooklyn, New York to explore the world. He says the cultures experienced and friends made along the way are what instilled in him a deep love for travel and the desire to provide the same opportunities to others.
On the Ground
Nelson serves as the Tour Leader for VIVE Group Trips, creating an atmosphere where every traveler feels welcome, safe, and instantly part of the family. Known for his humor and warmth, he brings a sense of ease to every journey—whether he’s coordinating logistics behind the scenes or guiding the group through exotic destinations around the world.
When he isn’t leading groups abroad, Nelson works alongside his wife, Michelle, managing operations and supplier relationships for VIVE Travel.
