Arrival Day in Shanghai
Welcome to China!
Arrive Arrive at Shanghai International Airport, PVG. You will be greeted by a member of our team and have a personal assistant to walk you through arrivals and baggage claim. Our driver will take you in a private vehicle to your 5 Star Hotel in the city.
Your hotel is ideally located in walking distance to shops and restaurants plus has epic views of the famous Bund skyline.
Enjoy your cozy bed, nice dinner and rest up for the adventure ahead.

Champagne Welcome , City Tour + Tea Ceremony
Join us for a magical introduction to Shanghai as we explore the old and new sides of the city. We’ll visit ornate temples, learn to navigate the local markets and of course walk the famous Bund.
A special evening tea ceremony arranged just for our group is the perfect welcome to beautiful China.

Markets + Hanfu + Culinary Delights
Start the day with our private guide to visit the bustling markets to learn about local handicrafts + shop for souvenirs. Then, we have a very special arrangement for our group to learn to make the sensational dumplings Shanghai is famous for. Your life will be forever changed after one bite!
After a fun filled lunch, we’ll venture to another neighborhood to learn about ancient traditions and try on the traditional clothing called Hanfu.
Cocktails at one of the most posh rooftop bars in the city top off this spectacular insiders look at Shanghai.

Today we go deeper into the soul of China — where history, healing, and modern life intersect. Our morning begins at a world-class museum showcasing rare treasures from China’s most opulent dynasties, giving you a true sense of the legacy and power that shaped this country. Next, we’ll step into a Traditional Chinese Medicine Center to learn how herbs and ancient remedies have supported wellness for centuries — a fascinating look into a practice still used by millions today.
In the afternoon, we shift gears into the sleek, modern side of town, where endless bazaars, street food stalls, and trendy shops invite you to explore at your own pace. Taste, wander, shop, or simply take it all in.

This morning, we invite you to greet the day from one of the most unforgettable places on Earth — the Great Wall of China. Join us for an optional, easy-level sunrise hike where you can soak in panoramic views and truly feel the magnitude of this bucket-list monument before the world wakes up.
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the heart of Beijing and check into the stunning 5-Star Hotel — your new sanctuary in the city — complete with our private driver and professional guide ensuring a seamless arrival.
Tonight, we’ll dive into old Beijing with a guided walk through the historic hutongs — narrow alleyways filled with stories, traditions, and generations of local life. These neighborhoods are the heartbeat and cultural of Beijing. We’ll stop at a local bar for a drink, enjoy the atmosphere, and then return to the hotel to unwind for the night.

After breakfast, our day begins with a journey to the world-famous Forbidden City — once home to emperors, and royalty. Walking through its massive courtyards and ornate halls feels like stepping into another time.
Next, we’ll browse a local antique market filled with hidden gems, cultural treasures, and one-of-a-kind finds you won’t see anywhere else. It’s the perfect spot to pick up meaningful souvenirs with real history behind them.
Tonight, we’ll savor one of Beijing’s most iconic royal dishes: Beijing roast duck, prepared in the traditional style once reserved for the elites. (Don’t worry — alternative meals are available for anyone who prefers.)
We’ll close the evening with cocktails and storytelling — the perfect final toast to a day overflowing with culture, flavor, and memories you'll take home forever.

All VIVE Trips are Adults Only. You must be 21 years old to register. We have had travelers from 21 to 81 on our trips! The average age is 35-65 years old.

VIVE Group Trips range from 10 – 20 travelers. This China Trip will have 10 or less travelers for an exclusive, private experience.
